The degree course entry requirements vary from institution to institution. Often most diploma courses require you to have passed five GCSE’s with passes in a science subject as well as either English literature or language. Nursing degree courses also often require candidates to have passed two A Levels.

When considering a change of career and working as a nurse you should bear in mind that good literacy and numeracy skills are essential. Nurses are required to possess good communication skills as the job means talking and communicating with a wide range of people. Observation skills are another key trait you must have; nurses are often left to monitor a patient’s condition, reporting back to doctors.
