Barack Obama, Jan 2009… “…we’ll create hundreds of thousands more jobs in education, equipping tens of thousands of schools with 21st century classrooms, labs and computers to help our kids compete with any worker in the world for any job. “ $53 Billion is the final amount to be spent on Education and Training.

One of the shorter term problems, however, that you may have seen in recent news is that because local governments are really suffering budget problems there has been discussion on eliminating teaching jobs to save money. However, on January 25th, 2009 there has been a refocus of the Obama stimulus plan money to take extremely quick measures (within weeks) to save these teaching jobs. It does seem that the new administration is determined to not let any local government financial problems cause current teaching jobs to suffer, which should pave the way for the increase of jobs in this area as we go forward.
